Number Four – Own My Own Home

Well the bank owns most of it, but we pay the bank but I count that as owning my own home.

This was the first achievement on my list, we signed the papers this time last year and moved in on March 22 2010.

The good thing about building a house from the ground up, is that it’s a completely blank canvas just waiting to be filled with our personality and style…the bad thing is that it is a completely blank canvas and all that sand is might daunting!

an extra bare back yard

I’m so excited to get my veggie patch in and I can’t wait until I have my own vegetables and herbs and flowers out there…but by golly there is a lot of work to be done first. Were about to head into July here in Australia and today is the shortest day of the year…best get cracking!

If anyone has any tips or links to starting a veggie patch from scratch please send them my way!

Number Three – Adopt a Puppy

Meet Bert He is the newest member of our little family, born March 23 2010 and is an absolute scoundrel of a Beagle.

Already the damage bill is up above $1000.00 taking into account puppy vet bills, three pairs of slippers, my hairdryer, play station controller, headphones, the telephone connection in the wall, a mobile phone and its charger, two rolls of toilet paper, steam cleaning the sparkling new carpets because he rolled in poop and rolled on the carpets, puppy proofing the back yard so he stops escaping, puppy preschool, and the list goes on.

But we love him, we adore him, and 6 weeks on I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

Number 2…The Wedding

Number 2 on the before I turn 25 list was getting married to my lover.

This was officially crossed off my list on the 26th April 2010 at 6.30pm We were married on a beautiful sunny day, at the Little Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas Nevada.

Earlier that morning we taxied to the Clark County Court House to apply for our marriage license.

We then went to a shooting range and Mr W fired off an AK47 while I posed for photo’s.

We spent the rest of the day at our hotel enjoying a little gambling and relaxation.

After a short 15 minute ceremony followed by an hour or so of photo’s we returned to our hotel, ordered room service and curled up together to spend our first night as Mr and Mrs W

My thoughts on eloping…the best thing we could have done. The thought of spending so much money on a wedding because it was expected of us, really didn’t appeal to either of us, our family and friends watched our ceremony via the internet back home and we had a marvellous day/night enjoying just being the two of us at a special time in our lives.

I do wonder how I will feel next Friday at SIL’s wedding, when her family and friends are there to cherish and adore the happy couple and celebrate with them a momentous occasion but that is something that I will just have to feel next Friday and put aside in adoration of the beautiful bride and her handsome husband.
